1. General Information

Knot in the Sea is a UK-based small business creating handmade coastal art and home décor from North Devon.

These Terms apply to all orders, visits to the website, and communications with Knot in the Sea.

2. Products

  • All pieces are handmade and unique. Colours may appear differently on different computers or mobile screens

  • Images on the website are for illustrative purposes. I aim to display products as accurately as possible.

  • I reserve the right to discontinue or modify any product at any time.

3. Ordering and Payment

  • Orders are placed via my Shopify store.

  • Payment must be completed at checkout using the available payment options.

  • All prices are in GBP and include applicable UK VAT (unless otherwise stated).

  • Payment is processed securely through Shopify’s approved payment providers. Knot in the Sea does not store full card details.

4. Shipping

  • I ship within the UK unless otherwise stated.

  • I take care to package all items securely and dispatch them within 2-3 working days.

  • For gift deliveries - enter the recipients address at checkout. I will ship directly to them. 

  • All items are shipped with tracking.  Once your item is dispatched, you will receive tracking number so you can follow its journey.

  • Knot in the Sea is not responsible for items lost or damaged in the post. Please contact the courier if your item does not arrive or arrives damaged.

  • Shipping costs will be displayed at checkout.

5. Returns & Refunds

  • Please see my separate Return and Refund Policy for full details.

  • Handmade items may not be eligible for return unless faulty.

6. Intellectual Property

  • All content on this website — including images, designs, text, logos, and branding — is the property of Knot in the Sea and protected by UK copyright and trademark law.

  • Knot in the Sea® is a registered trademark.

  • You may not reproduce, copy, or distribute content from this website without my written permission.

7. User-Generated Content

I love seeing your photos and reviews!

  • By submitting any review, comment, testimonial, image, photograph, or other material (“User Content”) via the website, email, or social media, you grant Knot in the Sea a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual, and irrevocable licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, and display such User Content for marketing, promotional, and business purposes.

    • You own or control all rights in the User Content

    • The content does not infringe any intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of third parties

    • The content is not unlawful, defamatory, or misleading

I love seeing my pieces in their new homes and always aim to credit customers where possible. If you would prefer your content not to be shared, please contact me and I will happily remove it.

8. Limitation of Liability

  • Knot in the Sea is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the website or products.

  • My liability for any claim is limited to the price of the product purchased.

  • I do not accept liability for loss or damage during shipping once the item has been handed to the courier.

  • Your personal information is collected and used in accordance with my Privacy Policy.

  • I collect only what is necessary to process your orders and communicate with you.

10. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes arising from these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
